Three Kids, One Tough Setback — Help Us Catch Up on Rent

I am a mother of three young children in Campbell County, Virginia, and I am asking for help with $1,530 in past-due rent. Over the past several months, our family has experienced repeated and unexpected problems with our vehicle. Because we rely on our vehicle for our everyday needs, we have had to put money toward repairs and keeping it running, which unfortunately caused us to fall behind on our rent. Just a few days ago, we experienced another serious vehicle failure. The wheel studs broke while the vehicle was being driven, causing the tire to come completely off. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the vehicle is now sitting in a stranger’s driveway because we don’t currently have a way to get it home or afford the repairs. We are trying to provide for our children, keep up with food and household expenses, and maintain a stable home while dealing with transportation problems we cannot afford to fix right now. We are asking for $1,530 to bring our past-due rent current. This is not an ongoing request for monthly support. We are simply trying to get through this setback, protect our housing, and give our family the chance to get back on track.
