Volunteer Services - UNC Health Rex
Give back to the community by volunteering with UNC Health Rex. Learn about available volunteer opportunities. Volunteers play an important role, assisting patients, families and visitors at both UNC Health Rex Hospital and the Rex Healthcare campus at Wakefield. Volunteers serve in areas such as information desks and waiting rooms, as well as the gift shop and various departments. Volunteers deliver flowers and mail, escort visitors, run errands, keep waiting rooms tidy, and provide clerical support. They provide comfort and compassionate care for patients and families. Volunteers serve a minimum of one 3 to 4-hour shift per week for at least six months. UNC Health Rex takes infection prevention very seriously. Volunteer vaccinations are determined on a case-by-case basis. Flu shot is required. Volunteer Services will assist in collecting appropriate documentation of vaccines.
