Young, single mothers in vulnerable situations face difficulties accessing family planning, health services, education, social protection, and economic opportunities, increasing the risk of further unplanned pregnancies, family dependence, and socioeconomic exclusion. Teenage and young adult motherhood presents a challenge for many families and communities. For a young woman who is still financially dependent on her parents, having a child can profoundly alter her educational, professional, and social trajectory. The situation becomes more difficult when the child's parent does not assume their responsibilities. In such cases, the young person may remain in their parents' home, be financially dependent on the family, and face family conflicts, stigma, isolation, and a lack of prospects. Another important challenge is the possibility of a new unplanned pregnancy shortly after the first birth. Lack of information, limited access to services, myths about contraception, and difficulties in negotiating condom use can all contribute to this risk. The project recognizes that family planning is not just about distributing contraceptives. It is necessary to ensure that young women have information, counseling, freedom of choice, access to services, and the ability to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive lives.
