Help Children in Foster Care (Maama Fakia home)

Save Shine Africa's mission is to ensure inclusive and equal for marginalized children, especially in their community (Children under foster care), as an enabler of human development. We strongly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a loving family. When children are unable to live with their biological families for various reasons, foster families step in to provide short-term care. Maama Fakia foster home under SSA care creates a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment until the children can be reunited with their birth families, placed with adoptive families, or become independent adults. We currently offer a home to 37 children, all of whom are living with Maama Fakia, with a total number of 16 girls and 21 boys. All the children are studying in local government schools. And we believe that every child deserves a place to dream. Running a foster home requires significant resources to provide a stable, loving environment. Effectively communicating these needs—like food, pads, tuition, medication, clothes, scholarly materials, mattress and blankets, etc. At home, every child deserves a safe and nurturing start, but providing for their daily needs is an ongoing struggle. We constantly face significant financial strain in securing basic necessities, from putting nutritious food on the table and providing essential hygiene products like sanitary pads for adolescence girls, to purchasing proper clothing, medication. Furthermore, ensuring our children receive an uninterrupted education remains a heavy burden as tuition and school supplies continue to stretch our budget beyond its limits. Our biggest challenge is meeting the daily needs of the children in our care.
