Urgent Action Fund – Africa (UAF-Africa) is a feminist, pan-African, Rapid Response Grantmaker and a Social Justice organisation. We are a part of the Urgent Action Fund global sisters’ – an agile, global consortium that protects, strengthens, and sustains women and transgender human rights defenders at critical moments. UAF-Africa makes grants to women’s rights organisations and individual activists, to support human rights initiatives that have a long term impact. We support women’s initiatives by providing them with financial and technical support to advance human rights. Our grantmaking has a rapid response focus, to allow activists timely access resources that can be critical in seizing unanticipated opportunities or averting/addressing threats.
